Is it possible for me to select the shipping carrier for my package?

Certainly! You can choose from different shipping carriers with us, allowing you to compare costs and delivery times to find the best option for your needs.

What occurs if my package gets lost or suffers damage while in transit?
  • With Insurance: If you chose to insure your package, you’re entitled to file a claim for the lost or damaged items. The insurance coverage will typically compensate you for the value of the items as declared at the time of shipping. We’ll assist you in the claims process to ensure you receive the appropriate compensation based on the insurance terms.
  • Without Insurance: In the absence of insurance, the options for recourse are limited. While we endeavor to assist in locating the package or addressing the damage, our ability to offer compensation or replacement is restricted. We strongly recommend choosing insurance for your packages, especially for valuable or fragile items, to safeguard against such incidents.
What are the consequences of submitting an incorrect shipping address?

In the event that a package is sent to an incorrect address due to an error in the address information provided by you, we cannot be held responsible. It’s crucial to verify and ensure the accuracy of your shipping address before finalizing your order. Any mistakes in the shipping address can lead to complications in delivery, and we are not liable for packages delivered to an incorrect location based on the information provided.

What is the duration for which I can keep my package stored in the warehouse?

Your packages can be stored at the KOREABUYING warehouse for a maximum of 90 days. Initially, KOREABUYING provides free storage in your personal locker for the first 45 days. However, if the storage period exceeds 90 days, KOREABUYING holds the right to discard or dispose of your packages, without any obligation to you or any third party.

What does repacking entail in the context of shipping and logistics?

Repacking in the context of shipping and logistics refers to the process of changing the packaging of a product or order. This is typically done to ensure safer transportation, reduce the shipping volume or weight, or to comply with shipping regulations. During repacking, items may be taken out of their original packaging and placed into smaller, more secure, or lighter packaging materials. This can help in minimizing shipping costs, preventing damage during transit, and maximizing space efficiency, especially for international shipments.

What does the term consolidation mean in the context of shipping?

Consolidation in shipping refers to the process of combining multiple individual orders or packages into one larger shipment. This practice is often used to reduce shipping costs or streamline the delivery process. When you have several smaller packages, they can be consolidated into a single parcel, which not only simplifies logistics but also can lead to lower shipping fees compared to sending each item separately. This method is particularly beneficial for customers who make multiple purchases from different vendors but want everything delivered in one shipment.

Are there duties and/or taxes applicable to my package?

Indeed, you are liable for any duties and/or taxes that may apply to your package. We recommend reaching out to your local customs office for detailed information, as these charges depend on the destination, origin, and value of the items being shipped. Please be aware that customs regulations and tax rates can change, so it’s important to stay informed about the current policies in your area.

How can I find out if my package has been received at your warehouse?

Upon the arrival of your package at our warehouse, we’ll send you an email notification. For ongoing updates, you can also check the status of your package anytime by logging into your account on our website. This provides a quick and efficient way to stay informed about your shipment’s progress.

What does dimensional (volumetric) weight refer to?

Dimensional weight, also known as volumetric weight, is used by shipping companies to calculate the shipping cost based on package size, rather than just its actual gross weight. This method is particularly relevant for packages that are large but lightweight.

For instance, consider a package with dimensions of 50 cm x 40 cm x 30 cm. Suppose the carrier’s formula for calculating dimensional weight is: (Length x Width x Height) / 5000, which is a common divisor used by many carriers. Applying this formula:

Dimensional Weight= 50 cm×40 cm×30 cm5000=12 kg

Dimensional Weight=

5000

50 cm×40 cm×30 cm

=12 kg

If the actual weight of the package is 10 kg, but the dimensional weight is calculated to be 12 kg, the shipping cost would be based on the dimensional weight, as it is higher. International carriers typically charge based on whichever is greater: the package’s actual weight or its dimensional weight.

You can find specific formulas for each carrier on our Shipping Methods page, allowing you to calculate the estimated shipping cost more accurately for different types of packages.

Do you examine or open packages?

KOREABUYING reserves the right to open and thoroughly check your shipments. This is to guarantee that no banned items are included in the transport. Our inspection process is a crucial step to ensure compliance with shipping regulations and to maintain the safety and integrity of the delivery process.

What is the estimated cost for shipping?

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to give an exact total cost upfront because of various factors. These include the weight of your items, the destination, your chosen shipping method, and your preferred payment method. We do offer a Shipping Fee Calculator to help estimate the overall cost. We recognize the benefit of knowing the total cost in advance, but due to these variables, accurately pre-determining the cost for your specific case is difficult.

What are the consequences if the declared value of an item is inaccurately reported or insufficiently stated?

If the Declared Value is inaccurately or insufficiently stated, it may result in customs clearance delays, extra charges, or the potential seizure of the package. Customs officials reserve the right to validate the item’s value, and any discrepancies can cause suspicion or prompt additional inspections. Therefore, it’s vital to declare a truthful and realistic value to prevent any issues.

What are the important factors to consider before buying and sending items to my intended country?
  • ware that certain items, such as food, beverages, and cosmetics, might face limitations regarding the available shipping options. For detailed information on these restrictions, we advise reaching out to our customer support team.
  • Understanding Import Regulations and Customs: Familiarizing yourself with the import policies and customs procedures of the country you’re shipping to is crucial. We suggest consulting the necessary documentation and contacting the relevant authorities in the destination country for precise guidelines.
Is it possible that certain items might be excluded from consolidation due to specific restrictions or reasons?

-Indeed, there are specific restrictions and reasons that can lead to certain items being ineligible for consolidation:

  • Size or Weight Limits: Items that are too large or heavy may not be suitable for consolidation, leading to the need for multiple packages.
  • Fragile or Unusually Shaped Items: Items like guitars or golf clubs, due to their fragility or shape, may not be eligible for consolidation to ensure safe shipping. We’ll notify you promptly if this is the case.
